Transportation

It's so tough to book a bloody cab during rainy days. I am already considered fortunate, able to travel in ease of a cab. What about those that take bus? Rainy days how to send child Yo school? Walk in rain carrying your more than 10kg toddler and a bag, maybe a pram too, to take a bus?!?
I nearly break my arm just now waiting for a cab in the rain!! More than 15 mins of waiting and not able to call a cab!!
Is it a must be to driving in Singapore if you have a child? How about many others that are less fortunate?
Damn it!

Rainy Days Woes

It had been raining cats and dogs for days. Everyone seems to be having the same complain on FB - where is Mr Sun? We need to sun our clothes!! ESP during the CNY PERIOD, a lot of washing of bedsheets, blanket and cushion covers, not forgetting the usual load of daily clothes. All the washing is put on haul and the stuff that were washed 3 days ago are still hanging around in our living room! Yes, no typo error! Clothes all over in the house! And it's really an eyesore! Maybe we should have gotten a dryer.
Other than the problem of washing, going out is another issue! It was raining so heavily this morning, in fact since days ago! There is no way to book a cab. We tried calling all cab company, even those ulu ones like SMART or TRANSCAB. Its either cannot get through or no answer! Thank goodness my father-in-law was home and was kind enough to send us to school despite the fact that he worked till wee hours last night. 3 cheers for FIL! Maybe we will consider bus service provided by school to solve the "rainy school days" woes!
Cannot imagine my working days when I need to prepare dinner for family early in morning and sending Alaric to school on a rainy day?!? A lot of adjustments to our lifestyle once I join the workforce again.
Another major woe about rainy days is- Flu! It made everyone sick! Alaric is having running nose again this morning!!! Aarrgghhh!!
Hope the rain stop before Alaric school end. If not I will have a tough time, carrying him and bag and umbrella and need to flag for a cab. I wish I am an octopus with 8 tentacles!!

Busy Busy Busy...

>> Sunday, January 30, 2011

It had been busy busy busy for us. ESP with CNY drawing near; less than a week to CNY!
Shopping for New Year clothes, goodies and decorations. Spring cleaning the whole house. Packing away unwanted yet considered new and useful stuff and send to Salvation Army. Not forgetting slotting time for my interviews. All above while poor Alaric is suffering from ear infection and me still having flu.
Thank goodness Super Daddy came to rescue! He does most of the spring cleaning and I am thankful that I can catch some sleep while fussy and grumpy Alaric zzz.
Adding more stress- financially, emotionally and physically, we were notified last minute that this year we can celebrate and distribute red packets. Plans to buy mandarin oranges and change notes for red packets were rush rush rush!
We hope we dun look like panda when we go visiting.

PS: rain rain go away! I need the sun to dry my stuff!!

Ear Infection

>> Tuesday, January 25, 2011

Poor Alaric was diagnosed with ear infection. Most probably due to the cold he was having. His fever shot up to as high as 39.5 degree celsius.
He was being prescribed with antibiotics again! This time round is a 10 day course! He will be having medication throughout CNY!
Did I mention that we paid near SGD170 for consultation and medication!

Sick baby and Sick mummy = Poor daddy

>> Monday, January 24, 2011

Me and Alaric is down with flu since weekend. Today Alaric runs a temperate of as high as 38.6 degree celsius.
Poor daddy gotta take care of both of us. Plus the house chores and his work proposal to rush, he is like a superman. But I can see that he is tired. Immersing himself with all the work but dunno where his soul is.
I hope Hubbs can pull himself together, find back his zest and be strong at work soon.
Hope Alaric's feet begone soon and we recover asap!

Sleeping Time = Fussy Time

>> Wednesday, January 19, 2011

Alaric had been having trouble sleeping over the weekend till now. Sleeping time, be it afternoon nap or nighty bed is fussy fussy baby torturing poor mummy!
I can be patting him for an hour after his many requests. I really mean MANY!
He will ask for second round of milk which I am trying to quit that second round of milk and increase the amount of milk for the first round. That will make feeding easier and one bottle lesser to wash. My concern is also adjustments to school feeding schedule.
After second round of milk, he will ask for patting of his thighs or backside. Not forgetting must cover him with blanket and equip him with his pacifer, mittens, creams and his hugables plushie for zzz before patting. Then if he still cannot sleep, he will ask for singing songs- Row Row Row your Boat, Twinkle Twinkle Little Stars, Incy Wincy Spider, WITH ACTIONS!!
And if still never sleep, he will say he want potty. After potty, he seems super awake and we starts the cycle all over again, without the milk.
I had been scolding him to sleep past few nights. Hope the fussy period be over soon.
Once again I suspect it's due to teething as his left molar is finally out and now it's breaking through for right molar.
Somebody save me!!!!!

From thus outing, conclusion is - I am not going town on weekend unless necessary. It's too exhausting for me.

Exhausted but still an enjoyable trip, at least for Alaric.
