Weekends mornings are great for beach and sand play.
Today Alaric shown the stubborn side of his again.
It reminded me of him when he was only barely a year old, I scolded him when he did wrong. He held his tears and did not cry. Shown me the face like he was maligned and yet put on a strong front, other babies would have already wailed. But he only shed a tear at he corner of his eyes.
He was stubborn again today, 2 times within a night.
The first incident was when I insisted that he says "No beating" as he was sharing that he was a naughty boy in school because he beat beat. I requested many times to say "No beating" and also scolded him that what he did was wrong. He simply refuse to say it and just kept quiet and hold back his tears as you can see he is already teary. He just ignore whatever I said.
Daddy heard our conversation and came in. Told him nicely that it's okay and asked him to say sorry and hug mummy. And he responded to daddy's request and hug and when I ask him to say no beating nicely, he said it!!
He is just unhappy that I primanded him that way and felt sad that I treated him so.
This is not the end, he didn't sleep after one hour on bed. I was so fed up as he had been zzz late and waking late and making me late for work. I scolded him, removed his pacifier and he was playing with it and not taking it properly. Smacked his butt telling him to sleep as i waited for an hour already.
He refuse to close his eyes to sleep when I asked him to. I even threaten to walked out of room and he simply shown me attitude by not responding to my actions. Even when I ask him to come to me so I can speak to him nicely, he simply ignored me. It was until a while that he stayed motionless on bed, like protesting with me, then he willing to come to me.
This son of mine is really stubborn with a character and attitude. I really need to handle him with more love if not I really can see that he will be leaded astray.
Nowadays Alaric loves to use blanket, our blanket. He also zzz like an adult.
Today Alaric's school is closed for Teachers' training. I took leave and be a one day SAHM. It feels like good old days when I can spend whole day with my rascal.
We had bread and cheese for breakfast together. Then we went to the library at around 10am and back home near noon for lunch.
He was on scheduled for his nap at home at 1pm. Normally he would nap earlier in school though, around 12pm.
He had a good nap till around 4 plus and that gave me time to reply work emails. Daddy came home shortly after Alaric's snack time.
A day well spent for me!
Alaric's class is getting bigger. Used to be 8 now it had became 18.
They actually split the class into 2. Differentiating the younger and older toddlers. But I still feel that the quality and the attentiveness to the toddlers are greatly reduced.
The reason that I am saying that is because there are many incidents of carelessness of the teachers. Such as, missing information in the record book, missing items in bag, misplacing dirty clothes with clean clothes, sippy cup not closed tight thus causing leakage and wetted the bag. Such nitty gritty basic negligence made me wonder whether Alaric is receiving the right education and adequate care and attention in school. Is the teachers capable to handle the larger class?
And last week, they actually downsized the area for PN classes and expanded the infant area. That really made me feel very uncomfortable as the reason why I decided on this school is due to the spacious area and the number of toddler in a class.
Maybe it's about time to keep a lookout of other schools.
I think Alaric is really in his Terrible 2 stage now!! He is driving us crazy everyday!
He fuss and want things his way. Don't wanna bath and show tantrums every now and then on the slightest matter. Little things like Daddy pressing the lift button will set him in the grumpy mode - jumping and stamping his feet. He must be the one to press the lift! And now with his limited vocabulary and pronunciation, we have a hard time understanding his request.
Hope this will be over soon.
This year, Alaric wishes me verbally! I meant he actually said: Happy Mothers' Day to me. Of course with a Muacks too.
Had not been posting photos of my darling son.
Alaric spoke his first long complete sentence today.
We told him that we will be going to zoo again as his grand aunt got us free pass.
He was so excited and said:
I wanna go zoo see moo moo!!
PS. There is no cow in zoo!
I have a little boyfriend who always wanna hold my hand as we take short stroll anywhere, everywhere.
Alaric was sick since Sunday. It all started with a high fever of 39.4 degee celcius at the night of the zoo trip!
Thinking that he may had caught a viral from the zoo as the weather had been hot and humid thus viral virus were rampant. But on the Wednesday, the 4th day of infection, his fever were still not settling. Thus daddy took him to the PD.
He was diagnosed with Herpangina - Hand foot mouth sister virus. He has red spots around his throat area which will cause him extreme pain. That's why he is refusing milk and most food.
PD commented that this virus would be from school instead of the zoo. I called the school to inform them about it so they can sterilize and clean the school to prevent virus from spreading to others. Yesterday principal called to inform that there is a case of HFMD, a mild case. Sigh. My worries came true. Hope they handle this with great caution.
Anyway Alaric's fever is settling. Plus the teething issues, his cough seems to be coming back. Teething always bring illnesses for him. Hope he clear his cough and flu soon.
Mummy and daddy cannot afford further leave. Daddy took 3 days after starting work less than 2 weeks and mummy took 2 days of unpaid leave since it's still on probation period.
That's life.
Rascal running high fever last night. I took urgent unpaid leave to take care of him today. Thank goodness never send him to school as his fever spike in the afternoon to 38.8 again. Sigh. Hope he recover soon. If not I will get sack soon.
Poor Alaric had been coughing for nearly a month. Several visit to PD and daily dosage of Salbutamol had not been effective. Sleeping soundly at night seems like an impossible task. He will be awaken by his coughing around 12am-1am.
During our last visit to PD, we expressed our concern and requested for antibiotics which we try not to give unless necessary. We are worried that the constant cough will affect his lungs as he has sensitive nose and lungs. It may even lead to asthma.
With the help of antibiotics(2 weeks dosage) and lots of effort keeping the house clean at all times, keeping all plushies out of sight, also with the help of a air purifier cum humidifier at night, his coughing is lessen tremendously. One more week to complete the antibiotics. I hope his condition remain this way while we also stay hardworking to keep the house clean. Change all bedsheets and mop house at least once a week, wipe of dust in room and vacuum house daily, etc.
I do hope everyone in the house is cooperative enough to make things happen. For the good of Alaric at least.
We had a great weekend.
Saturday was Clark Quay early in the morning, for work with the family. Evening dinner was at Paya Lebar.
Sunday we had a relaxing morning and Parkway Parade Swensens for dinner.
Today is back to work again! Bad news is that Alaric had developed slight cough and had a runny nose. Maybe due to the fried stuff he took or caught virus from my stubborn ass FIL whom had been coughing before CNY and refused to see a doctor!!
Anyway he didn't zzz well too. Woke up several times most probably due to nose congestion.
Hope he recovered before I go for my 4 days training in Malaysia. 
Crying badly and show tantrums at school door. Refuse to go school like as though it's the first day of his school.
What is wrong with him?!
Temperature seems little higher at usual at 37.5-7 Degree Celsius. Hope it's due to the crying and tantrums.
Pls dun fall sick as I am starting work on Monday!
He seems extremely happy before we even go to school. I think he knows that there is a school party as I told him the day before!
