Our neighbour, Sharon and Jay, parents of Alaric's playmate had bought Alaric a work station!
We will be bringing our to our new place for Alaric to play.
My very nice neighbour had given Alaric a ride-on. And Alaric enjoys playing with it.
Today is an auspicious day for house moving. (recommended by Feng Shui Master) In fact, we were provided a few dates to select from and this day is the one that is before the 7th lunar month so we decided to go for today. (Chinese Ghost Festival )
Fortune (rain) welcomed us for this important day of our life. Everything went on smoothly. All procedures were followed through as recommended
Grandpa Goh accompanied us there too. Alaric was glad to have another playmate for the day event.

Snacks have gotta be nutritious yet yummy. And must also offer a variety of snacks.
Currently I am giving him the below:
- Yogurt
- Fruits Purée
- Pumpkin Purée
- Sweet Potato Purée
- Mash Potato
- Bread with Margarin or Peanut Butter
- Cake
- Cheese
- Chicken Steam Bao
- Char Siew Bao
- Biscuits
- Fruits : Papaya, Banana, Rock Melon, Apple
- Fruit Juice
- Steam Egg (will try)
- Hard Boiled Egg (will try)
Alaric's routine is in the midst of changing to one nap time in the day.
Past few weeks, most of the days, he is only taking one nap. Mostly on weekend he may need to take 2 naps as he will wakie early to disturb daddy.(he knows daddy is home on weekends) And I hate that as I gotta wakie early too. Normally, weekdays, he would wakie around 9am. And when daddy is home, he will wakie at around 730am!
Weekday routine:
9am - Wakie and drinks milk
930am - Light Breakfast + TV
10am - Wet Marketing or go out visiting
12pm - Lunch
1pm - Bath if at home
130pm - Milk and Zzz
4pm - Wakie and drinks milk
430pm - Snack time
5pm - Short walk in neighborhood
630pm - Dinner
730pm - Milk
830pm - Bath
9pm - Playtime with Daddy
930pm - Milk and zzz
Alaric had been having porridge for a long time. I think since he is 8 months old?
Now, I think he is sick of porridge, despite the variety of selection I am providing him:
- Threadfin porridge
- Silver fish porridge
- Spinach porridge
- Sweet potatoe porridge
- Pumpkin porridge
- Minced pork porridge
- Corn porridge
- Apple corn porridge
- Herbal porridge
- Lotus root porridge
- Winter melon porridge
- Big cabbage porridge
- Chicken peanut porridge
With several attempts of him spitting his porridge, I think it's time to let him try rice. Although we did feed him "our" food at times, his intake is still little due to the fact that he is lazy to chew.
First few mouthful is still ok. Usually at the 3rd or 4th mouthful, he will either gag or simple spit out the half chewed food. Simply lazy to chew.
So today onwards, I will cook some healthy meals for the family so Alaric can join us at our dinner table.
I really gotta crack my head for dinner from today onwards. To make things easier, porridge is still on for lunch. Only dinner will be our food.
Today's dinner:
- Black bean soup
- Minced pork tofu
- Baby Kailan
- Sauced fish with Shitake mushrooms
Past weekends had been very busy. We are actively shopping for our home sweet home and visiting of "mums" still on.
We have bought our dining table, dining set, Alaric's table and chair, and several miscellaneous items for our house.
Now the main furniture missing is our sofa and coffee table. Still hunting for a cherry teak wood sofa set to go along with dining table.
Other accessories and furnishing will come in soon.
It's not easy to build a home, not to mention it's a home sweet home. All the effort and money spent will be worth while.
Maybe I should change the blog name to Life being Bert since there are so many things about Bert to post.
I think if Bert and I were to fall into a pond, Alaric would save Bert!!
Why this sudden thought?
I was playing doodling with him and drew Bert on the paper. After doodling session, I wanted to clear the mahjong paper but he stopped me. Yes, because Bert is there. I had to tear out 'Bert' for him.

Vroom Vroom with Grandpa Jack!
I think I look great in Polo Tee. Just like how daddy look.
Alaric was having some bites, I think they look like mosquito bites yesterday. Maybe around 4-6 but still look fine.
This morning, after he took off his pajamas, he was attacked. It seems that the whole clan of bugs or mosquitoes or I dunno what decided to have a feast on his legs and some on his arms.
Napping over at Ah Ma and Ah Gong house in a weekday?!
We went to Alaric's playmate, Ian's house today.
Mummy MeiHui prepared sushi but Alaric wasn't appreciative. Well at least I ate quite a lot.
They had fun. Snatching toys, pushing one another, making a mess in the room etc. Boys are boys!! MeiHui has got a air-conditioned playroom with tons of Fisher Price toys for Ian. So we stayed in the room most of the time.
Time flies. 2 hours just passed by in a wink of eye. We haven't even chat enough. I bet the boys haven't played enough too.
It's great staying indoors at times and cut our shopping days when the boys are fussy-both teething period. Looking forward for more of such days, simply chill at her place, need not worry about them fussing.
Great start of the week for me!
We feel "young" when playing. But after that, we felt so shacked out. Have to admit we are old and cannot party/have fun till wee hours like how we used to.
Wonder how youngsters club till 4am nowadays. I will be dozing off by 3am I bet.
Hubbs never enjoy broccoli so I can only have it when I am alone for lunch.
