Man of Few Words
>> Thursday, December 9, 2010
Yes I am referring to Alaric. He is a man of few words (commented by his uncle Jason)
These few days, he had been speaking a little more.
Just to jot down words that he had spoken:
Papa
MeMe
Ah Ma
Gong Gong
YeeYee
JieJie
Zor Zor
Bert
Ernie
Elmo
Goat
Pig
Bear
Hippo
Nose
Eyes
No
Go
ByeBye
Open
Potty
Baby
Apple
Banana
Up
Car
Bag
Ball
Disc
要
坐
And animals sounds: pok pok-chicken, quack quack-duck, moo moo-cow, woof woof-dog, sshh shh-snake, tweet tweet-bird, oink oink-pig, baa ba-sheep, roar-lion, and elephant. Thanks to animal week we had!
Still considered little words if I did not miss out a lot of them. 19 to 24 months, a toddler may understand as many as 200 words and may use only 50- 75 of them regularly. And acquire at least 10 new words each day! If he is focused on learning to talk, he can add a new word into his vocabulary every 90 mins.
Now you know why kids are fast learners. So pls mind your language when you are with a toddler. ESP mine as he has fussy parents. Haha
